Overview

Specialist Hospital Bauchi (SHB) was established under the Bauchi State Specialist Hospital Law of 2018 and formally commenced operations on December 19, 2018.
Its history dates back to 1917 as a leprosarium, later converted into a General Hospital in 1960, then upgraded to State Specialist Hospital in 1979, and briefly ATBU Teaching Hospital in 2010.
In 2015, the hospital moved to its current purpose-built complex.

Organizational Structure

The hospital is governed by a Board with 20 members and a chairman. The Chief Medical Director (CMD) oversees policy execution and daily operations.
